Helping nonprofits and churches get rooted for the future.
Why Tamarisks?
The roots of the tamarisk tree go much deeper and further than other typical trees, which allow it to survive even in the most difficult of circumstances. We believe tamarisks are a symbol of resilience: if we are able to help your organization develop deep roots, then your work will endure for years to come.
About Isaac
My name is Isaac, and solving problems is what makes me come alive.
For almost ten years, I served as an Executive Pastor, overseeing administration, finances, and operations—addressing everything from legal/compliance issues to discipleship and administration. Before that, I worked in a variety of industries, including international developmental aid agencies and public utilities.
Over time, I began to recognize a growing need for nonprofits and churches: namely, that while they had the clear mission and vision for their work, they lacked the time and expertise to develop infrastructure and long-term scalability for the organization to progress into the future. Moreover, the day-to-day operational challenges took away valuable time and resources from the important work being done on the ground.
In 2025, I decided to take the leap and offer my services as a bookkeeper, fractional COO, and consultant to nonprofits and churches by forming Tamarisk & Co.
I am the proud husband to Grace, and father to Hope and Zachary. I also (badly) practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in my spare time at Ethos Jiu-Jitsu in Fullerton, as well as at a nonprofit gym called East LA Jiu-Jitsu in Los Angeles.
I hold degrees and certificates from UC Santa Cruz (B.A. Economics), Fuller Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity), North Park University (Certificate of Church Administration), and Western Governors University (B.S. Business Administration: Accounting).
I also serve as an ordained pastor at EKKO Church in Anaheim.
